gearbox filter, which one???

Have to do a gearbox drain and refill with a filter replacement (2004, 3.0 Td6). The original for the GM 5L40E is a IBS Filtran or a genuine LR.
The local dealer can't supply an original and I cannot source the IBS Filtran at all Big Cry

So it looks like I'm damned to buy an aftermarket one. But which to buy.... Aren't they all Chinese stuff (Vaico, Meyle, Maxgear, Febi Bilstein etc) and thus inferior?
Is ther anyaone out ther who really knows what he is talking about? Bow down Is the BMW X5 filter the same and what partnumber is it?
Many thanks! Bow down

The BMW X5 e53 diesel has the same gearbox and the same filter. Many more options for the BM. Just get a known brand. There seem to be two types, one for cars and one for 4x4`s. The correct one has a slightly lower pick-up. the black bar across the filter. These are the ones I have used

This is the car one with a slit for the pick up

Thank you Wayneg! just as I thought a BMW X5 filter would suit it. Still wondering what a wel known brand is though... Question Do you know the BMW part number so I can order from the BMW dealer?

I believe that BMW only do kits, which include the filter, gasket & sump bolts. If you Google the BMW part number 24 11 7 557 069, you will hopefully find what you need.
