If you are not getting sufficient fuel pressure from the electric fuel pumps the injectors won't fire. The most common cause is the pump by the NSR wheel. Take off the cover and give it a decent wack. Cheap and easy to change. 2007 TDV8 VSE

I had ruled this out as I Took the cover off the pump and had a listen its definitely working although now you mention it the pressure isn't great would low pressure on the pump stop the injector harness receiving power though was leaning more towards ecu or maybe crankshaft sensor but would make sense if this is the case |

Another thing to mention I reluctantly let the rac try a squirt of easy start and it seemed like it was going to but still didn't start

There are two electric pumps, one in the tank, the other outside. If there is plenty of fuel in the tank it should get to the 2nd low-pressure pump ok. This should pump fuel at around 4bar to the fuel filter and onto the mechanical high-pressure pump. There is a sensor on the fuel filter that tells the ecu there is good fuel pressure, if no then as far as I know the injectors will not fire. Any decent diagnostic tool should show the low-pressure reading. 2007 TDV8 VSE

I pulled the pipe off the fuel filter and cranked the engine and fuel came out but only a trickle sounds like I've overlooked the pump to soon then didnt show any codes for fuel pump when rac plugged in though is there any way of testing if its the pump before replacing ? Does jumping the relay give it more power or is that just for when it's not working atall |

What did your diagnostics show the pump pressure to be? If you have no diagnostics you need to start guessing and replacing parts. 1st part to replace is the out of tank low-pressure pump, see link for a cheap version,

He never told me what the fuel pressure was unfortunately just that it was showing no codes trying to avoid just throwing parts at it but havnt got the gear to test it myself |

I give up. You obviously know best. The fact that I have owned a TD6 and replaced both pumps on my car and a mates does not add any weight to my help. Best call the RAC again or better still take it to the dealers. Over and out. 2007 TDV8 VSE
