Squeaky Tailgate Strut(s)

My tailgate struts often make a nasty squeaking sound.

It's worse when the tailgate's closing.

Garage I bought the FF from said "lots do that in the cold weather, you need to WD40 them".

Are they right, or is it a case of, "they would say that, wouldn't they"? What do I put here then?

WD40 is a water dispersant. I would use (and I did) a silicone based spray and it worked for me...

And use the same silicone on the door rubbers to stop them freezing Thumbs Up
