My 2011 4.4tdv8 started throwing all sorts of warnings up at me whilst out and about yesterday.. then completely shut down and died half way across a t-junction!

I'd hoped it was going to just be a battery and ordered one as I waited to get some charge.

For the sake of it, when I got home, I charged the existing battery up as I waited for the new one to arrive and when it was charged I connected my Gap iiD.... guessing the alternator is goosed !

Sounds very much like mine when the alternator gave up, but I got home with it.

Don't put a new battery on until you prove it is not the alternator or you have it changed. It may (will) screw the battery up. Mine was about 3 months out of seller waraanty and after chnging the alternator the battery was found to have been taken out. Luckily that was on a five year warranty and, believe it or not, the seller sorted out a FOC replacement.
