CD Multi Changer won't eject!

CD Multi Changer won't eject!

When I press the button nothing happens. I have tried pulling the fuse, leaving it for a few seconds then putting it back in. This work the first time it wouldn't give me my discs back!

If I press the mode button on the dash it says there are no CD's, I know the little B$%&"* got them in there and now it's lying to me!

Does anyone have this problem? can some one tell me how to get my CD's out of the damn multi changer? Gas Power - 50p a Litre!!!

I had an almost identical Clarion CD Changer in another vehicle (Mitsubishi EVO)
and it tried the same trick on me once..

The fault seemed to be a little sensing switch inside the CD unit that sensed if the cartridge was seated properly - after you have loaded it. Because the cartridge can start to eject and then stop, the sensor thenn thinks ther is no cartridge in the unit - hence the message.

I know this sounds daft - but with the sliding door open push the cartridge back into the unit as far as it will go, and whilst holding the cartridge in there - push the eject button.
The moment you start to hear/feel/see something moving - stop holding the cartridge in - and it should power out...

It took 3 goes to get mine out - but then it worked fine after that...!

No problem to date with the RR one - but I did sigh a bit when I saw it was the same autochanger....!

Hope this works for you (because other than that I have no idea!)

Thanks for the reply Muddy, unfortunately it didn't work!

Tried pushing it in and pressing the button, pulling the fuse, prodding it with a screwdriver, ripped the front off and prodded some more and swore at it a lot.

Then, just before I was going to put the boot in, it spat the cartridge out at me!

I just have one old CD in there at the moment and it seems to be working fine! I'll give it a couple of days and if it's still behaving I'll put some more disks back in and see how it goes.

I think the swearing and threats did the trick! Gas Power - 50p a Litre!!!

Out of interest, were any of the discs with sticky home made lebsl on them?

I once made some like that for my RRS, they all got warm in the player and then the stickers rippled and stuck in the player. Discovery 4 HSE

Glad it's sorted now.

Swearing and the violent application of extreme force solves most mechanical problems! Very Happy Well, it at least makes you feel better and think you've exhausted all options. That is until someone (usually a woman) comes up, looks at the problem for 10 seconds and presses the correct button or lever (the one you didn't see or looked unconnected) and solves it properly! Hi RRUK and Larry

None of the CD's were home made, all shop bought real ones. I think that one of the disks had slipped out of alignment causing the jam, and my prodding eventually got it back in the correct position for it to eject.

I'm not normally aggresive toward electrical equipment, believe it or not I am a time served electrical engineer. But . . . . . I did threaten a Linux PC the other night after trying for 2 hours to get it on to my home network and after leaving it for a couple of hours I went back to it and it connected immediately! Spooky!

I'm like a bad tempered Uri Gellar! Gas Power - 50p a Litre!!!

There is a way to get a small piece of card board and try to move the CD tray back into the cd cartridge I would say you have a 25% chance of getting that to work.Good luck
