Meant to add if anyone knows of a good Hotel near to Oxford Street , would be appreciated usually stay at the Guoman Charing Cross but looking for somewhere nearer the shops ( wifey buys too many things and donkey here has to carry them ) .. Thumbs Up

We stay at a very nice hotel near Marble Arch. Only costs £50 a night for bed and breakfast.

There's only one catch- it belongs to Marks & Spencers and is for staff only. Situated right above the Oxford St store as well so easy reach of all shops!

It is very popular though, and to get a room these days, we have to book months in advance. I had the foresight last year to book this New Years Eve!

As an added bonus for me, there's a free underground car park behind the store. It belongs to the Met Police but they let me use it 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

The Grange is OK but not that close to the west end shops - it's a cab ride away.

Sounds a lot for the train though - is that open returns ? You can usually manage quite a lot cheaper if you book ahead & restrict yourself to certain trains.

LOL Thats a bit non PC and non ethnic majority of you Mick Wink

I was riding from Kings cross to Towerhill on thursday last week ( i only do day trips for work as refuse to stay overnight) and i felt outnumbered as well Sad saying that riding down there was easier than tubing or driving as it was like going through a big car park and with there being many other targets for drivers i felt safer lol
