Should I get Land Rover navigation incontrol subscription?

Recently bought a late 2016 RR Autobiography which has apple CarPlay. I have the Land Rover navigation and recently added google maps to the apple car play. Just wondering is the subscription to the Land Rover navigation worth it and is it a a hassle to sort out?

im not sure there is an Over the air update to the mapping on MY16. it maybe you have an early MY17 car.

My MY16 has the Nav updated by USB stick, and doesn't have car play etc so I suspect you have the updated gubbins. I did subscribe to the Incontrol system, and no map update aside, it gives app control of the FBH and allows you to track journeys and lock/unlock the car remotely. Useful but not essential I would say. in 2 years I've probably used it 1/2 dozen times.

As stan says, google and apple maps work better and are always up to date so unless you have a burning need to have the LR mapping then stick with google. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the replies. Will not bother with the navigation subscription. Personally I like the incontrol so I can check car is locked and can also warm the car before entry. Paid for the incontrol tracker for peace of mind.

Coming to this late, what is the route to subscribe to the navigation subscription?

Going to the InControl website I can't see a subscribe option, but the car is saying 'unable to display traffic info' whilst telling me to update it and directing me to a website. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

i think the maps can only be updated via download to usb dongle and then transferred to the FF..

obviously if you have carplay/android auto on your system then these maps are updated via apple/google. ... - .- -.

The factory tracker is a complete & utter waste of money.I had my MY17 stolen ,it was driven 1.5m away, down a residential back street ,contents of boot emptied into a garden. There after the tracker didn't work and car not seen since.
I spoke to JLR tracking services who said " They probably disconnected the ****** ". Really blase as if happens all the time.
