I think the problem you have is that the brake pipes were in a state that they needed replacing. The dealer can argue that the defect was repeated in the caliper which made it liable to breaking when any force was applied and reflected the general condition of the braking system.

A competent mechanic should be able to remove a seized bleed nipple without wrecking the callipers. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

A competent mechanic given the time should be able to remove a seized bleed nipple... But there is the issue! Main dealers count every minute and apply pressure to the tech to ONLY use the designated job time... That's why these things get broken... |

They had an engineering mob into look at it but they refused to do the job because the threads were stripped out the caliper itself. Probably didn’t want to be liable for it incase anything bad happened.
