I'm almost certainly just being a numpty but I need help to understand why my deployable side steps suddenly stopped operating. They've been working fine since I got the car. Then after the last wash, when opening the door nothing happens. I've done some searches on here and found a few things to try, with odd results.

Checked the 30amp fuse 39 in the load space box and all OK.
Looked over the dash and throughout the manual but couldn't find any reference to a side steps "button" anywhere - I don't think I have one...or do I??
Saw a post about a menu option and went there. I can switch them off and on there, but they don't operate in either setting.
However, I can switch on roof access mode and both steps deploy normally - and retract again when I switch off roof access.

So the steps work after all, but just don't deploy on unlocking or when a door opens.

Any ideas how I can get them set back to normal?? Mike - MPx

There’s a button down by your right knee - below the boot release button

They will turn off if you press the TR2 knob... Could you have pressed this whilst cleaning? They will also turn off if the axle articulation is too great i.e. parking with one wheel on a kurb?

Just to fill in the gaps, pressing the TR2 button means the steps won't deploy as you could be sat in muddy ruts...

Answered on another thread, but just in case someone stumbles across this one.

TR = terrain response and is the pop up dial near the gear selector.
