There’s a button down by your right knee - below the boot release button

They will turn off if you press the TR2 knob... Could you have pressed this whilst cleaning? They will also turn off if the axle articulation is too great i.e. parking with one wheel on a kurb? |

Just to fill in the gaps, pressing the TR2 button means the steps won't deploy as you could be sat in muddy ruts... |
