Am I mad .. too far to get a bit of rust? | |
So guys,
I am in the middle of rebuilding a bought Clio 172 Cup track car. Full build thread here, if you are curious: https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/thread...ar.111627/
Anyway.. I have a bit of a dilemma. You will see in the following pics, I have circled an area. In that area the wheel well is right up against the rear chassis rail, making it impossible to access to rust removal. What would you do?
I have tried using various tools etc to get in at it but to no avail. I think my only option is to either leave it as is, with some rudimentary attempt at treatment and just hope for the best.
Other option is to cut out the wheel well to get access and then just weld a flat panel onto the floor instead of the wheel well. I'm not concerned about losing the wheel well to be honest.. in fact it's really annoying and I would rather a flat floor.
Edit - I had meant to say that, it might seem a bit crazy to go to this extent for a bit of rust. I understand it is only a track build. But given, that I have gone this far (car stripped to shell). I don't want to leave anything to chance when it comes to rust, if you know what I mean.. last thing I want is to see bubbling there later on or result in compromised integrity etc... now is the time to treat it.
