Water leak

Good evening everyone
Well 7 weeks of ownership and still pleased with the car. However as per title I have water leaking and investigating this afternoon I found I have a broken piece which goes from the top hose into the valley
It’s the join piece that goes from the small pipe to the 90 degree piece which leads to the top hose
Obviously 5pm on a Saturday no chance of getting said piece
Just wondering if anyone knows what I should be asking for when I get to the parts department
Thanks in anticipation

It might be worth filling in the vehicle on your profile, or mentioning it alongside a question re model-specific parts?

See Microcat. The number it will give you will be a reference number, usually googling that + 'Range Rover' will get results. If not, then scroll down the Wiki, open the Russian microcat, find the same part on there and when you click on it you'll get a screen showing part numbers within the URL. 2010 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Thanks mr Potts
Its more of a join piece that goes on one of the thin pipes from the four piece top hose but the bit that goes from their before it goes into the valley. If that makes any sense 2016 4.4 diesel

Yes sir it is and yes the picture is correct also
Its the pipe 8260b but not the whole top hose
Its the bit that connects the little hose that the arrow is pointing to that connects with the other little pipe into the v bit I need
Its a plastic piece not rubber. Its looks similar to a spinning top but with longer ends
If you can see where the line goes into the other hose. Its the bit that is actually sticking out of the other unit 2016 4.4 diesel

I think you'll find the part you refer to is only available as a whole assembly. It was about £84 two years ago.

Comes with two large hoses, 4 way conector etc.

Beware that the end into the fitting the arrow is pointing to requires care to remove as force will break the lower part of the fitting resulting in another large bill for an assembly!

You could use a temporary pice of pipe and hose clamps in place of the fitting, assuming my interpretation of your leak is correct. You may be able to source just the connector fitting on ebay if you can determine its dimensions.

HTH Cheers

Thanks for your reply
Bit of a pain to buy a lot of stuff just for the sake of a fitting
Mmm and you can’t really see if you have broken anything further down the line until filling with water
Is it the oil cooler that it leads to
There’s a lot of stripping out to get under where it leads 2016 4.4 diesel

You'll find it goes to the thermostat housing, which comes with several pipes attached.

Download the WM for the 2011 from the Wiki and have a read over the section on cooling. It's fairly good on showing most of the info, and the drawings allow a good idea of where things fit.

If it is the smallcoupling that's leaking on the small pipe by the intake donut then as said a temporary relacement could be made. It's been done by someone on here.

The most ususal leak is on the fourway pipe by the rad, which also is fraglie enough to break when you are changing the donut hoses or cleaning the throttle body/MAP sensor. Cheers

Morning all
So on Sunday I ordered the part that comes with all the hoses attached as in picture in previous replies
Managed to get one from eBay new 43.00 pretty much
It arrived yesterday so fitted just the bit that I needed in about 2 minutes and that was it
It has stopped leaking and it’s building up pressure
So for now think it’s fixed. I’m going to keep an eye on the water level for the time being
Thanks for your help gentlemen. Much appreciated 2016 4.4 diesel
