2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue
Headlamp Levelling

Hi, I’ve tried the search function without success, can anyone help me specifically with the last generation (2011 vogue SE)

My dipped beams are too low, as far as I can see they don’t do any sort of self check when first turned on.

I’m not sure if my car is supposed to have the adaptive lights as there is no movement at all, my build sheet refers to dynamic levelling.

So my questions are.

Should I expect any sort of self check levelling on a non adaptive car?

On the assumption that I should see this process what is the starting point for checking it out? If there a fuse / relay / module to investigate.

I am aware that there are some adjusting screws but it is my understanding that modern lights should have some form of levelling system

Any advice greatly appreciated

I thought it’s the car that levels via the air suspension, thus the headlights don’t need any self levelling system - they are always level.
If they are too low then they probably need adjusting. Anything can be made to work if you fiddle with it long enough (and have deep pockets|)

Yes, that’s my understanding too. Prob need a check at a friendly MOT station, will tell you one way or another.

I don’t have adaptive lights, and I don’t think mine do any moving about checks on ignition on.

Yes, the vehicle self-levelling maintains headlight aim by keeping the vehicle at the same attitute regardless of load. The headlight units have adjusters for up/down and left/right on the top of each unit, the centre most adjuster is for up/down and they are simply allen headed inset screws. Dead easy. There should be a sticker under the bonnet that tells you the headlight angle on dip beam, so it's easy to work out what height the beam should strike an object a known distance away (I use 10m). Drives:
