2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver
TV Tuner Install

I've done a search so I'm guessing it's a esy as it looked

I've had a quick look this morning before going to work to c what I had to do to my hybrid tuner

Is it really as simple as undoing the 10mm at the top unplugging the wires and pullin the old unit out and just sliding the new one in??

Thanks
Neil

On mine...

The Tuner sits in a cradle and with the cables on top it can be difficult to relocate. However judicious use of a mirror and torch will allow you to observe the location of the lugs on the bottom cradle. There is no flex in the bottom cradle due to its thickness and form.

Take a photo of the location and level of the old tuner before removing it. I had to wriggle the tuner to get the cradle to release its grip and like everything FFRR you have to use a bit more force than you might wish. Make sure the wiring bunch on the top of the tuner is pulled clear before removing, an assistant is useful.

Suggest you try the new tuner before fitting in the cradle by connecting the connectors and antenna pair and checking correct operation on power up. The connectors will reach if you lean the new tuner against the wiring at the front of the AV "cubby hole"

Mine fouled slightly on the Sat Nav comp when I tried to remove it and some wires (a brown bunch) had been fed through the LHS of the tuner cradle. So I undid the bolt holding the rear LHS of the cradle and the bolt locating the front RHS to give me enough "flex" to re-locate the new tuner and to move the brown wire bunch outside of the cradle in the correct position.

I had a blank screen after initially powering up (no comp/logo). A squirt of connector cleaner (Maplins I think) and relocation of the plugs got it going well.
