2007 VSE. The headrest does not move up or down, I can hear a motor running when the switch is moved up or down. The headrest can be freely moved up and down by hand with no resistance. Any ideas? 2007 TDV8 VSE

So to find an answer and looking at images of the motor I realised like lots of things its a BMW part / design. I started trawling the BMW forums and came across this great write up https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/e39-200...er.635189/. I have not got into it yet but it looks like I have problem 2. There is a good seat back removal video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQgy3Z8ApnY 2007 TDV8 VSE

I hear what you say but to me, it's a challenge. I only knew it was not working when I tried to raise it to get the newly recovered headliner up as high as possible whilst refitting. I am sure my other half would have something to say about the defect if unresolved so for an easy life and a good nights sleep it will need to be fixed. 2007 TDV8 VSE
