Dadsh cam recommendations

As title suggests, what recommendations do you guys have for a dash cam in my L405. i am hoping it will sit behind/adjacent to passenger side of rear view mirror.
I have so far been advised that Next Base and Blackvue cameras are good but no model references.
Pros and Cons? Thanks.

I've used Blackvue in a couple of cars with no problems but there is now a LR branded cam that has good reviews - is a bit more expensive though. Part number is VPLKV0134 CTC had one fitted to his L405. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

There is a problem with Low Battery warnings with the Blackvue dashcam. I had one in my 2018 car and was constantly getting the warning so switched off the Parking mode, which defeats the object of a dashcam!!

I now have the factory fitted LR cams which are brilliant and very simple to use with no issues whatsoever Thumbs Up Thumbs Up All LR cars from 1984

Did you fit the LR one yourself Chalky or get it done by the dealer ? 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I have that same problem in my defender, battery protection doesnt seem to work ok if parked for medium periods but drains the battery if left for a few days, at the moment i just use a trickle charger. Not sure i would use Blackvue again]

It was fitted when I picked the car up at my factory Handover day, but I think normally the car would arrive at the dealer from the factory and it would be a "dealer fit".

The only thing I would specify , had I known, is that the rear cam is fitted at the bottom of the window not at the top. It's not an issue anyway really as you hardly notice the cam when driving. Thumbs Up

There is a thread somewhere on here where Craig does a video of fitting it yourself, or maybe it's on Youtube? All LR cars from 1984

Thanks Chalky Thumbs Up I'm probably going down the route of the LR one dealer fitted as long as my car gets built before they switch production. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I have enough "Low Battery" warnings during the last year anyway and certainly don't want any more.
Good to know in advance that the park mode with these cameras does drain the battery significantly.

I second this, well, nearly - Garmin Mini 2. I installed one into my L405 recently.

£89 in Halfords at the moment.

A great, no nonsense review here...
