I've never heard of a worn knuckle causing new bushes to be loose & they are all the same !

I did mine a few weeks ago…. And then did them again the day after, this time using genuine parts, as the first attempt by using non-genuine rose joints ended up with them moving as Ben84 describes. I thought the first attempt went in too easily…… |

Before fitting new ones to my new front knuckles, I put the new ball joints in the freezer over night. They were still a good interference fit and took a while to bolt them in, but made fitting slightly easier. |

Having recently done this job on My TD6 I cannot see how the new bush if correct can be loose in the hub carrier. They are a press fit needing a serious bush press to get them out and back in and are retained with a meaty circlip. Any wear on the old bushes would not affect the carrier bore as it would be inside the outer sleeve.
