Rear locker fitted or not?!

I'm going to change my diff oil so in order to get the right oil I need to know the type of diff.

I got in the car and selected an off road, low ratio program and my dash and the audio unit show two different things.

The audio unit shows a padlock over centre and rear diffs, the instruments just shows centre.

Anyone got an idea why this is ans how I can actually confirm the diff fitted?

I've been wondering the same thing, as I'm seeing exactly the same on my 2012 Westminster. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Try entering your VIN into

vindecoderz.com.

You will get a build spec which may answer your question.

Failing that have a chat with Rob at site spnsors Duckworths tomorrow.

HTH. Cheers

Looks like it’s not got it.

When it’s been mentioned before, it was found the graphic shows on the centre screen even if it’s not fitted. It always shows an open one, and never locked, as it’s not fitted.

If it’s fitted I believe it will change from open to locked on the central screen, and also show correctly on the instrument cluster.

If you want to know for sure, crawl underneath and the locking one has an electrical connector on the diff.

^ wot that man said. Crawl under and have a look. Open diff has no connector locker has a plug, wire and iirc a solenoid on it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Got underneath and had a look, no actuator.

Now I need to track down the oils for the diffs and transfer case
