09-12 Headlights??

Does anyone know what factory options there were in the UK?

I know the late 12 had black insert.

Did any have adaptive lighting?

Part numbers would be handy.

Also if AFS is an option, is a module required to upgrade?

Mine has AFS and Cornering headlighs, I imagine a brace of ECU's to help them on their way but can't help with the technical side really...!!! Pete

Would you mind sending me your VIN? Via PM?
Want to see what the part number comes up as.
What year is yours?

The VIN won't identify part numbers, only build features.

I was going to put the VIN into parts catalogue. Will show the part numbers applicable to that vehicle.

I hadn't thought of trying to use the VIN that way but having just put mine's VIN into Microcat 2012 it still shows both headlight options, not just what's fitted to mine.

The part numbers are shown in Microcat. The electrical diagrams show an AFS module some distance from the headlights as the wire lengths between the AFS module and the headlights are several metres. If wires exist in pins 5, 7, 13 and 14 of the headlight connectors then the wiring for the AFS module is installed.
The AFS module appears to be in the vicinity of the forward end of the centre console.

A UK 12my would have only 2 options. With or without AFS, now on 12my (black internals), the non AFS headlamps had the cornering lamps deleted/painted black! So, if you find a black internal 12my headlamp with chrome cornering lamps then it's highly likely to be a Highline lamp... Check the wiring plug to confirm its a 16 pin ??? (I think that's the right number)

The 9-11.5my lamps with grey internals, all externally look the same so are harder to denote... The cornering lamps on NON-AFS lamps are chromed the same as the AFS lamps, just don't have the LED packs fitted... The larger amount of pins in the wiring plug would then denote its a highline light Thumbs Up

Hope that all helps sir... Thumbs Up
