Roof Bars...

So I have the sports cross bars which locate in the front two factory slots underneath the covers. They aren't really in the most useful position for my needs so my question: how easy to fit/remove are the rails for the adjustable roof bars? I wouldn't really want to leave them on all the time. Secondly are the crossbars the same for each solution if I could get my hands on the rails by themselves??

Thanks,

Andrew

The rails really are designed to be fitted once. Personally I like the look of them when installed, but appreciate that isn't to everyones taste. It also means fitting one's roof accessories us a peice of cake and you dont have to find any fittings etc.

I agree with Dan. The pukka rails and crossbars are really good. Difficult bit is finding them. LandRover stopped selling them last year as their supplier had gone bust apparently. I spoke to Nick at YLR (parts manager) and there was rumour that Mantec might be stepping up to become the supplier. No word since though and the old ones were something like 700 quid for the kit. Not exactly cheap. Mantec ones aren't likely to be and less expensive either.

eBay is king for these, new and old. You can buy a Chinese version for half the price now too!
