No wonder the roll bar and seat belt were invented! The amount of guys who were smeared along the tarmac as the car skidded along upside down is shocking!

Very scary.... No wonder motor-racing safety has improved so much with the likes of Jackie Stewart pushing for additional safety over the last 4 decades....

I suppose they all accepted the risks when they jumped in the cars... It would take balls to drive one of those things...
I was going to say that thanks to these guys, it has evolved into the sport it is today, but motorsport today is so far removed from these days there are no similarities...... Apart from maybe karting, not being strapped in. Previously..
