Hi all.
Have had a fuel issue where if I Rev over 3200 (kick down) it throws up an error and starts struggling to pull itself along and rattles.
Not end of the world as I’ve learnt to drive without exceeding that and has been fine for months. (Even if it does play up I can clear it in seconds with Icarsoft).

Noticed yesterday it seams to be stuttering around 2200rpm and throwing out loads of thick black smoke.
Sounds like turbo is still kicking in and under 2200rpm it drives fine.
Ticks over fine
And in park it will rev up to 3500+ with no stuttering and no smoke.

It’s only when under load.
Any ideas?

Vacuum maybe?

Black smoke is normally a split hose or collapsed hose….. sometimes hard to find as they may only show under load….

Fingers crossed it’s something that easy.
Will have a proper look tomorow after work. Vacuum hose or something more substantial?

I replaced the vacuum ones under the manifold when I changed seals on fuel pump a few month ago. I wasn’t comfortable then that they were as big as the ones I took off. But we’re “get me outta trouble Halfords” stuff Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

Maybe injector related too.

Id say most likly injectors, for how long it takes pull them out and most likely find one or two need the nozles cleaning etc.

Only just got around to looking at car today.
Clearly viseable 60mm hose N/S/F not connected. New jubilee clip and no more smoke and power back,,,

Black smoke from a diesel is usually a sign of over fuelling; blue is oil burning and white…well you don’t want to know what white means.
