The upper tailgate on my L322 was repaired almost 3 years ago by the previous owner, and as anticipated the little bubles are starting to show. The repair has lasted well in my opinion, but this time I would like it to last a longer.

I plan to cut away the all the rot and weld in a repair section - even if it is the entire bottom, frame and skin as required. I would like to obtain a reasonably priced upper tailgate with a OE spec dark tint glass at a reasonable price so that I can take my time in perfecting the metalwork before repainting it.

Has anyone got a lead on a reasonably priced upper tail gate with an OE spec dark tint?
I am reluctant to pay £200+ for a tailgate from Fleabay with substanially more rust and additional damage than my own and clear or no glass that would have to be replaced.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are going to hate me but 12 months ago I bought a used tailgate that was like new from a range rover dismantle place near St Albans for.....£90 !! Can't remember the name of the place but they were posting stuff on ebay at the time. Just the frame and glass so had to transfer all the stuff of of my old one but once painted .WOW.

By an old rot free example before 2005 they seem better quality I did that a year ago Current stable:
