I know someone who works in p4u and he says they are the in thing at the moment , at the start the OS was not upto scratch against your androids and other smartphones , but Microsoft seem to have the bug's and fixes sorted out now ..

This link might help you decide as well stan ….

interesting read mick...my reason for getting one of these at the moment is that there will be a 7.5 version out soon so these '7' phones will be getting reduced in price..

Was a big fan of the old windows mobile 6/6.5 on HTC (One of very few fans i think...), but mainly because i actually got involved in hacking and tweaking the OS to make it user friendly and actually work properly!

Have had an Omnia 7 for about 5 months now and have been impressed so far, but in a different way. There are pros and cons with the new OS. It was pretty buggy until they released an update a couple of months ago and this sorted a lot of issues. Main gripe would be lack of multitasking capability, minimal customisation available - with WP7 you can't even assign your own sound files as ringtones/alerts/alarms and have to use stock ones that come on the phone -but this isn't a big issue for me. You can't use software from the old 6/6.5 system if you bought any (I had TomTom on mine which came in handy when i didn't have the FF)

However, in normal every day use for phone, text, email and occasional web browsing it has been superb and never let me down. If its your thing, then the Facebook integration is better than the iPhone/Android systems but again not much use for me...

Much smoother, faster, and more intuitive than the old system and the phone takes 1/4 the time to boot up. Email and calendar sync is simple and easy with both Outlook and Windows Live, battery life is reasonable as long as you don't have bluetooth, wifi and data connection active all the time

Best thing about it - it isn't made by bloody Apple!!!!!

Will easy last 2 days of my normal use - approx 1-2hrs calls per day, 1/2 hr of web browsing, WiFi & bluetooth on all the time, data connection off.

Only turn on wifi/BT when needed and have seen it last 5 days (just!)

I charge mine every night however as my downloaded alarm programme runs with the screen off and drains the batteries - another issue with WP7 - no way for aftermarket alarm programmes to wake the phone, only the preinstalled alarm/reminders seem to be able to do this. Probably just because the software code is new and no-one has figured it out just yet....

Why would you not use a Blackberry for email/calls/browsing?

IMHO by far the best unless yo want to F about with apps....
