Front climate/cd module removal

So in my quest to repair the slide door that covers the drink holders on the center console, the only post I was able to find was Fleagle from about 2013 where he had the same problem, so he removed the entire console and was able to correct the spring. I was wondering, if it wasn't difficult, to take out the front climate control panel as the back of the the tray assembly might be accessible to repair the spring? Has anyone removed the front climate control panel? Is it difficult?? Thx in advance!

Yes, it's very easy. I've taken mine out to replace the climate controls.

From memory, you need to pop off the leather surround from the screen, pop off the two aluminium side panels, then it's two screws to undo.

I'm not sure if it'll give you access to what you need though. Kev

Me either but would rather start there than removing the
Entire console. I was hoping that with the climate control panel out I might be able
To see the spring mechanism for the slider door that goes over the drink holders. Thanks again for your input!
