L405 Order Placed

Just ordered a P400 Autobiography in Silicon Silver with some toys, really not sure I'm actually going to get this due to the timing of the new model and the chip shortages but if I'm not in the queue I definitely wont be getting one Laughing

Its taken me 5 years to get over my last disastrous range rover ownership so hopefully it will be third time lucky for me Smile 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Good luck jez
Hope you get a good one.
You probably won’t remember me, but I visited your place to pick up a set of wheels and winter tyres.
I came in my Baltic blue 2011, and am pleased to tell you it’s still as good as it was 5/6 years later, .
Hope you enjoy your new one as much as I have enjoyed B.B.
Cheers

The main thing is to get the colour right. The rest will sort itself out over time..

Great choice so far! Thumbs Up I bet you’ll be pleased with the 3.0 petrol (and it’s not often you read that on a RR forum).

What toys you got? I went pretty much all in, but of everything I think 1700w hifi is my favourite followed by HUD. Hot stone massage is a bit… of a gimmick but rear massage is welcomed by rear passengers, I guess, shame they didn’t pay for it. Shocked L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Agree about HUD but what a shame it's only the generic Satnav which shows not Waze and Google Maps! The song title from ACP shows, so why not the other satnavs on ACP? Whistle All LR cars from 1984

I would settle for google maps in the driver's instrument panel, forget the HUD, but alas no.

I find I know always use HUD for speed - took a while to get into that habit, strangely. For satnav I use the HUD, sure, but more often using the driver's instrument panel, sometimes making map full screen on tricky routes like on foreign roads.

HUD also shows the speed limit, rev counter in Sports mode (shame not in regular Drive), gear when in manual mode, the status of Steering Assist or Lane Keeping Assist, collision detection warnings, MP3 track name when it changes, and I seem to remember some off-road info but I forget now. Unfortunately for P400e, is does NOT show anything related to hybrid running, which is daft, because the Eco gauge showing when you risk firing up the petrol engine would be rather useful in the HUD.

I am sure the HUD for the L460, certainly by year 3 or 4, will be fantastic, and will make mine look even more like a gameboy screen than it is today! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Just noticed you have Silicon too Ilard Thumbs Up whats it like to live with ? does it hide dirt well or not and does it change colour under different light ?

Spec Ive ordered is:

Silicon Silver
Shadow exterior pack
Espresso Ivory Ivory
22 Inch 9 Split spoke contrast diamond turned finish with gloss dark grey alloy wheel - Style 9012
Cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 filter
Domestic plug socket
Pixel laser LED headlights with signature DRL
22 Inch full size alloy spare wheel
Front centre console refrigerator compartment
Solar attenuating windscreen
Towing pack
Leather headlining
Figured macassar veneer
Privacy glass
secure tracker

I was split on the HUD or the laser headlights as they are about the same price but the HUD is on the short supply list and would delay the build and Im not even sure if there will be enough time to build this before the L460 takes over.

Went with the P400 petrol although I've not driven one because 99% of my journeys will be <3 miles, school run, kids local activities etc ... but I will also likely drive to the alps 5 or 6 times a year and hate filling up, I'll be able to get down on 2 tanks of petrol with this engine.

Going to be a bit nervous now to see whether or not this actually materialises. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Silcon Silver is absolutely perfect for hiding stuff. I have a very happy detailer. In fact, it's the black finish around the windows that will show any naughtiness, but with my full monty Gtechniq coating it's like brand new again after its annual spruce up.

I wish I had specced the fridge... the regular cooler just doesn't cut it as it cannot rapid chill anything, but it's fine after you've been on the move for a while, I guess.

The domestic sockets only power up when the engine is on, not for example when you open a door or anything, which I have found is great for powering a rear facing dashcam recording in loop mode.

I tested the solar attenuating windscreen with / without a custom made sun shield for the windscreen... the physical sun shield only made the interior 0.5C cooler, so this glass obviously does a good job.

I wanted leather headlining but I did not want an opening roof as I don't use them and I don't like the centre bar. Sadly, with fixed roofs even on AB you can only have the suede cloth.

It's not too late to splash the cash on a 1700w system.... I totally love it, I am now cursed with always having to buy premium hifi in future cars. Luckily I do not change them often! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Thanks for that Ilard Thumbs Up stop trying to tempt me with the HiFi though Laughing Im thinking of full PPF which will probably be about the same price as the HiFi upgrade and I probably cant justify both. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Did you get it? My dealer told me today the last L405 was coming in this week, but the new model was up to 2yrs away for new orders! Looks like there will be a gap in the market for some time. I have done 8k in mine since September and its been great. 2021 L405 Vogue D300
