Looked through a few websites but they mostly show you the front of the cabin , is the Evoque a 4 or 5 seater ,without being too tight a squeeze hopefully Thumbs Up

5 in 5 door.
It's nearly as wide as a FFRR.

From LR website:

Rear Centre Head Restraint - Available with Rear Bench Seat only

I think that's the 3 door Stan.
5 door has a rear bench seat with a centre rear headrest I believe.

Was updating my post when you did. Thumbs Up

5 door...
http://babyrr.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=36

You can just see the centre belt hanging down in the middle of the back seat.

A messy solution as like in the FFRR the middle belt gets in the way of fat rear passengers or when fittiing a baby seat (IMO).

Certain other vehicles use a centre belt that pulls out of the roof, when you don't need it there is nothing in the way on the back seat.

Cheers Gents, COZ MY LINE OF THINKING IS …. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Don't know if i could wait till 2013 for the new FFRR , plus i do not really need something as big as the FFRR apart from 5 seats to do the school run in the morning , Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes plus it is mostly just me that is in the car ……

Also if there was naff all wrong with the FFRR that you already owned (apart from it being 6 years old) and has all the toys , lowish mileage for the year etc etc , would you buy a new / ish model of the FFRR ie 59/60 plate just for the sake of it …..

On one hand i would buy out the wrapper , but have done so on too many occasions and the depreciation on brand new cars is just getting beyond a joke now …

Or maybe the older i am getting i am starting to get a sensible head ……. Whistle Whistle Laughing Laughing Laughing

Sometimes i wish i just had a Corsa ….. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

It sounds like a similar line of thinking to me MICK.

Considered the Evoque and the new Range Rover (if I can afford it) or a MY10 FFRR.
90% of the time in the vehicle alone.

I've bought a cheap run around until I decide... I really don't want 40k+ tied up in a FFRR with a new model 18 months away just in case it drops by 10k overnight.

While I could probably afford it, I can think of better things to do with all that depreciation. (or on a new one)

I wish I'd kept the 55 plate FFRR I had as it was actually fine, but after I while I just got bored and got the itch to change... Sad

Plus seeing how LR have such a terrible history of new vehicles having faults I don't want to be completely peed off with an expensive purchase a month after buying it.

decisions, decisions...

Maybe I'll just pinch the wife's car. It's been completely trouble free and the dealer is fantastic, unlike my experience with LR dealer.

Edit: Also my wife said whe wouldn't drive the Evoque as it's too wide for parking spaces. I couldn't get her out of the Yeti with a stick of dynamite it seems! Laughing

It would seem silly to buy a new car you don't need for the sake of changing or boredom, but I bet we have all done it. I sometimes wish I had kept the TD6 and just run it up to 150K as it was perfectly fine really. In some ways I don't love my current one in the same way, maybe because its so overly capable or something?

The new car in 2013 I doubt will have much impact on used prices, when the TDV8 came out, when the 2010MY and 2011MY came out, the used prices did not drop like a frenchman's trousers, if anything they bouyed up due to demand for good second hand cars.

Buying an Evoque is exciting but I'd be concerned about the potential first line issues you'd face, plus I will NEVER buy brand new again, you turn the key and lose 20% VAT value straight away. I think you have to be mentally unhinged to think that's ok. (or just very wealthy and therefore it's a different criteria and so who cares right?) I wish I was in the latter camp.

If your car is fine and low miles for it's age then is there really a need to part with 40-50K? Probably not. Discovery 4 HSE
