Interior LED bulb upgrade on a 2011

Fitted this kit today:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CRM1HPH/ref...3Eb73Y3BGS

Pretty straightforward and used this video to help me:

Buy yourself a trim roll kit. So useful Thumbs Up
The “Welcome” circular knee lights are easy and not shown in video. Knee panel is soft material. Use a pointed trim tool and gently prise around the silver bezel and it will pop out.
Also includes number plate lights.
Glovebox - that looks a challenge! Any ideas?

Kit also includes the door mirror puddle bulbs but I bought the Powerful UK complete units instead

Update:
No flickering from the number plate lights so the canbus resistors must be OK Thumbs Up
The illuminated interior is vastly improved and it looks superb when lit up in the dark.
Very, very pleased so far Thumbs Up
I really like the design of the LED versions of the 501 bulbs. Solid contacts and no stray wire contacts like some I've seen.

There is an eBay kit but others on Facebook have had issues.
I like the design of the 501 LEDs in my Amazon kit. No bare, stray wires like in some kits. Hard contacts. A couple of the door ones and vanity mirror ones had to be turned around to make them work. Polarity.
I wasn't going to do the 2 number plate ones but glad I did. Vast improvement. I did angle the LEDs slightly. Experiment yourself.
Top tip - buy a plastic trim tool kit. Useful for loads of jobs not just this!
Glovebox one - don't bother. I've seen a report that the replacement LED won't fit due to restricted space.
Now looking for some decent reverse light ones. I recall a group buy on here Whistle Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I’ve been toying with doing this.

I take it they still dim like the original ones? Is that a daft question? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

No such thing as a dumb question. I ask them all the time. A BS answer is another thing though Rolling with laughter
Yes, they dim nicely Thumbs Up
Nice little upgrade for a hour or 2 on a Sunday afternoon. Then check them out at 10pm Thumbs Up
Get the Amazon kit I linked to above and a plastic trim tool kit. NOT a screwdriver Censored Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

That's not a bad upgrade to do from the look of it and not that expensive either.
What does the trim tool you used look like?
Would careful use of a flathead screwdriver be ok?

I'd also be a bit wary of letting those LEDs flash in some of those dodgy parking lots...could attract the wrong kind of visitor Laughing 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Stornoway Grey

Rob - trim tool set.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252346456297
Invaluable I'd say.
Kinder on trim than a screwdriver especially for the sun visor lights and knee welcome lights.

Thanks DrRob - have been meaning to do an LED interior conversion for a while, so seeing your review of these have ordered up the Amazon pack as well, and the trim tools!

Yes, if Bushy's group buy is still going for reversing lamp LED replacements, they make a massive difference - you can actually see where you are going when reversing at night. So glad I fitted mine 2 years ago, and great quality.

Dr Rob: The video shows the guy installing reverse lights on his Vogue......but you're saying they don't come as part of the kit?
Wasn't bothered about upgrade LED kits before.............but perhaps now I might Laughing
Does look quite impressive & providing they don't play silly 'B's' with the can bus etc I may well join you! Very Happy 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!
