Vibration From Front Passenger Door - Fixed! | |
I'm not one for playing loud music but ever since I've had my L405 something on the front passenger door has resonated at a particular frequency when certain songs are played at a moderate volume. I always thought it was some loose plastic trim on the doorcard itself or maybe the screws on the speaker had loosened over time. Today, I decided to investigate!
I played a song through the stereo that always makes the door vibrate and no amount of touching the trim on the inside made the noise disappear which lead me to believe it was something inside the door itself.
So, the door was stripped down and I found the offending part, which was the strengthening member running through the inside of the door...

I found that this part is fixed inside the door by a bolt located in the door jamb. The bolt was loose. A quick tighten up with a T40 screwdriver and it was problem solved!

I hope this may be of use to someone in the future and saves them time as the bolt is fully accessible without removing any of the door trim. Kev
