M62 fuel pump issues

Hi Guys,

I'm after a little bit of advice.

My M62 Powered 2003 L322 conked out the other day after running fine for ages. It will crank over happily but not fire. At the side of the road I deduced that there wasnt much fuel at the valve on the fuel line under the engine cover, so then moving onto the fuel pump I couldnt hear that going either with the ignition on.

Once home, I looked at various threads and youtube videos and after checking fuses and swapping relays, and seeing if it will fire on easy start (which it does) decided that the pump must be dead.

However, today I thought I would check as per powerfuluk's video if there was 12v at the connector to the fuel pump, and unfortunately, there isnt. There is continuity between the blue and white wire to the pump and the connector in the rear fuse panel, but thats as much as I can check I think.

I dont have a inline fuse to check like powerfuluk does to know if there is power to the relay or fuse (or how do I check that otherwise?)

Does anyone have any other ideas? - I have a pump on order anyway, but am now really concerned that that isnt necessarily the problem.

Cheers

Just to close off this a little, my problem was the fuel pump in the end, and now its been replaced (bit of a pain in the bum to do, but thats to the guidance on here I managed it), but all is good with the world.

However, the thing that threw me in my thread was the fact that according to sources and powerfuluk's video, I should have had 12v at the connector (blue and white wire), with just the ignition on, but with a good battery to get the hawkeye working, its clear that isnt the case - the Relay only runs when the engine starts to crank, not just on ignition.

Just incase that helps anyone else.

Cheers
