The trouble is, the +ve clamp also incorporates something else (not sure what) and is a single piece to alternator and start motor, so not as simple as replacing it with an ordinary battery clamp. The replacement cable is part no. YMS500340 or LR012380. An expensive battery cable! I'm not sure it would be a good idea to graft clamp to the existing new cable - I'm sure it would be possible, but you'd want to be very careful about getting a very low-resistance joint because of the high currents involved.

Does ithe cable have the battery disconnect unit on the later models which fires off after a crash ? |

Make sure it is pushed right down on the post. If it is even slightly up it won't tighten. John

As above, but if yOh are attempting to fit a bigger battery then some fettling is needed. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The +ve clamp has a box like thingy on it, and a couple of more wires.

The box type thingy is the explosive type thingy as mentioned above by miggit and can be sensitive and throw an SRS fault.

I've found this for the BMW... which is basically LR up to 2005, and Ford didn't change everything so I imagine that they are still these.
