Td6 Gearbox issue (again). | |
Back in March this year, our Gearbox went south on the TD6. Transmission Technology in Solihull sorted it and all was well. They replaced a load of stuff and the torque converter etc and I was happy with their work. Ken was very helpful and the car drove well afterwards.
...that is until a couple of weeks back.
We were going up a longish hill and the box changed down as expected, but there was a definate clunk as it changed down - very unusal. After that the gearbox seemed to loose drive - like slipping the clutch alot on a manual. There was also a loud rattling noise from the box, soundling like a loose flywheel or similar spinning round.
I managed to get it the 6 or so miles home by switching the car off and leaving it to cool down and driving until it lost drive again.
Its been sat since then on the drive until I can get it back up to Ken (who is now aparatly ill and unable to work at the moment - hope he is ok).
This morning I needed to move it on the driveway and it selects drive just fine and works as expected - until presumably the oil heats up and the rattle starts again. I havent driven it more than about 40 meters in reverse and drive, and it seems o.k, even with the rattle.
Any ideas what might have gone wrong with it?
