United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue
2007 TDV8 3.6 Whitish/Greyish Smoke

Evening all,

I have a 2007 3.6 TDV8 and generally it’s a very good runner, apart from one niggle.

When I start the car up, no smoke at all. Rev it standing still, no smoke. However, when the engine is under load, say if I accurate hard or when the car is rolling and I stamp on the accelerator, the left hand (passenger side) exhaust will smoke, which I am fairly sure is a greyish colour. It’s not that bad, but it’s there so I want to fix it.

I have changed the two top intercooler pipes and that reduced the original problem. I wondered if it was EGR, so fitted a £30 EGR blanking kit, the engine become a tiny bit peppier, but no change at the exhaust end. I guess it showed my EGR valves are ok.

I suspect that air is getting in somewhere and was considering changing the other rubber hoses in that ‘circuit’.

Has anybody else had any experience of this?

Many thanks 🍺

Yeah, they’re both good. I recently changed the coolant.
