Reading manuals and using google, it seems the compressor oil / refrigeration oil is added along with the R134a when the system is being gassed for the first time or whenever the system is drained and regassed

Oil needs to be added, when changing components in an old system, there should be a list of amounts to add especially for large components like the compressor and receiver dry.

As in above post, plus leave vacuum on for an hour to test for any leakage in the system. |

Auto spelling correction… ‘back’ was supposed to be vacc, as in vacuum or evacuate 🤷 |

It seems that everyone (maybe correctly) has decided that the op is talking about Air Conditioning Compressor. My immediate thought was air suspension compressor because that IS an air compressor whereas the a/c compressor is not? BMW i3 Electric Car

It was his second post where he talks about R134a that gives the game away 😇 |
