Evening All, any bright ideas on the following?
I’ve had my air con re-gassed and I’m pretty sure the compressor is working well as I’m getting the familiar puddle of water collecting under the car from the condensation.
However, inside the car is behaving a bit oddly. The air direction controls all seem to work fine pointing the air at where you want it to go, -footwell, screen vents etc. I can also seem to control the temps using the dials as you’d expect. However, when using the air con for cold air, it’s not blowing as cold as it used to, and indeed is colder at some vents than at others. The passenger vent at the a pillar is pretty cold that reinforces that the air con is likely working, but the centre dash vents are warmer -warmer still on the drivers side, and then even warmer at the drivers a pillar vent. This leads me to think that there’s some sort of flap or valve control that is not working properly. Does anyone know where this may be lurking in the car? I’ve found a YouTube video that shows a water control valve in the near side of the engine bay, and he clamps off the pipe to prove the air con is working before replacing the valve. I’ve done similar, and it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
Any bright ideas from you knowledgable folk?
