Are parts becoming hard to obtain?

I asked this before a few times, and folk seemed generally confident that a good supply of parts would be available for years.
Am starting to see a few posts now saying parts are hard to come by.
I suspect jLR do not have the same appetite to keep supplying spares for older models that they use to have.
Encourage the owners to move up to newer models by withdrawing support for the older.
I am now drawing up a list of maintenance tasks to do this summer and not risk being told next year the parts are unavailable.....

From experience of LR in the past with some older cars, when JLR exhaust parts stock centrally, they then mark the parts on back order. When they've got enough demand they approach a supplier to make a run of parts, if there's not enough demand, the part goes NLA, the acronym nobody wants to hear when they call their parts supplier of choice. Where LR used to use local suppliers, they seem to get a lot from China now, probably because its cheaper and the local supplier has long since gone bust because they couldn't compete on price.

Hi all. Precisely my experience with a few parts recently. "Back Order" = weeks to months. The 2010 - 2010 edition also has loads of Ford sourced parts which doesn't help... ----------------
2010 RR tdv8 3.6 ( gone but not forgotten ...)
2012 RR tdv8 4.4
2004 RR 4.4 V8 (M62) -gone but not forgotten (sob)
1998 P38 RR - least said the better
2009 BMW 7 Series 3.0d
Various motor cycles - BMW GS
1998 Jag XKr 4.0 V8

I've had precisely this problem with both Land Rover and Volkswagen this week...
Some very standard parts in cars that are not that old.
