How much for a respray?

Hi all, have a 2017 vogue but couldn’t get one in British racing green. I’ve got one in gold and looking for a respray or dare I say, a wrap.

Anyone know about pros and cons of either and approximate costs? Thanks in advance

I don’t have any real world experience, but I believe wraps are cheaper, last only a few years but give an easy way of getting car back to stock if needs be.

I dare say experts will be along soon.......

There was a vid on here somewhere of Yannimize doing a 322 wrap, I think the price was somewhere north of £8k but I can’t be sure. Was a proper job though with all the shuts etc done.

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic56658.html?highlight=wrap

In terms of a colour change, that is a big job. Especially if you do it properly. All the glass should come out, all the wings bonnet and doors off to do a really decent job. £££. You can do it cheap but it will be pants. We had an old Chrysler crossfire colour changed from silver to white, and a cheap job (crap car too) was £3000. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Spain 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Baltic Blue

Back in April 2019 I made an enquiry to www.yiannimize.com to ask how much a full wrap in a non-metallic gloss wrap would be on our L322.

This was their reply:

“The start price for an outside only wrap for the lower half of your car is £3200 + VAT”

A Trap

Most people haven’t a clue how expensive a ‘spray job’ is, materials and equipment are expensive and Labour extensive, a color change is likely north 10K to do it right. A cheap job north of 5k. It’s never worth doing unless doing a nut and bolt restoration anyway, just sell and buy the car/spec/colour you wanted.

Here’s an interesting video of a defender getting a full colour change, might be worth giving them a call for an indicative price.

^Interesting that Thumbs Up

Saw my local shop doing a colour change to Firenze on an old 110 came out with nice black bits and red paint. Looked much more modern, and it was on something like an H plate. I would imagine it was easier to unbolt than a new deafener tho. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I've done a full-colour change on my D3/D4 from Maya Gold to Fuji White, I did all the taking apart and refitting it all. it is impressive how much is involved to do it right and how much new pieces of trim you tend to replace. Thas was in 2011.

One of my 322 was resprayed from new, full-colour change from delivery.
All done perfectly with all glasswork out, everything off - you cant tell it has been resprayed as you can't see the previous colour anywhere even when taking the bumpers or interior trim off. The bill on 2004 was 5 digit.

A wrap will be between 3 and 10 k depending on the material and length of time you want to keep it and your location.

Bear in mind taking the wrap off has a cost too. However turnaround is much quicker with vinyl than a full respray. Paint, you'd not have your car for 3 to 5 weeks. the wrap would be done within a week. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I watched an interesting vid on youtube the other day where Sam (seenthroughglass) was having a 595 biposto colour changed using a company that sprays a liquid wrap onto a car to change the colour to anything you desire! It's simply removed by peeling it off like a wrap rather than plastidip type... It's finished like conventional paint, even wet sanded and polished like conventional paint!

That's the route I would look into if I were in your predicament sir... Thumbs Up
