Cheers to all at DCC for fitting my car in this week. I ran out of time and was frustrated at not having my 2010 conversion front end on, and whilst I had all the bits, I simply didn't have the time (baby on the way, working away all week etc. etc.) to do it.

Martin fitted me in, kindly loaned me a Mercedes C Class so I could carry on my business in London and finished it for tonight. Also managed to correct my faulty parking sensor issue (Loom rubbing at the back) and fitted me new badges all around to compliment the look.

Just picked it up and really really pleased. Everything works as it should, no error messages whatsoever, all parking sensors working great and no flickering at all anywhere on the new LED's.

Happy days.

The quality of work was fantastic, all joints properly soldered and all brackets etc. fitted very professionally.

All I can say is you need anything, speak to Martin. Their conversions are of an extremely high standard, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Plus there is a fantastic collection of old signs in there!! I want badly!!

This is my first hand experience of them  Used to have:
2005 FFRR 4.4 Vogue - BRC LPG Conversion & Remapped

Now have:
2008 SSRR 3.6 TDV8 - HSE and plenty of toys

Do your Bi-Xenons work as they should? ie the shutter move? They don't tend to wire these up.

How much electrical tape did they use on the connections they cut? They didnt bother with any on mine - just left bare wires cut all over the place.

Do you headlight washers work? On mine they stuck a bolt in the tube so the pump just runs but it doesnt go anywhere rather than connect the tube up.

I could go on but this is already turning into hate-mail.

Your Xenons might - but do your Bi-Xenons?

When you put your main beam on the Outer lights have a shutter in that should move. On every DCC conversion I've seen in the flesh this has been missed off.

2002-2005 still has headlight washers - what parts are they trying to sell you? 2 foot of rubber tube!?

FYI: It is a legal requirement that all Xenon lights are fitted with washers, without them you are breaking the law. Being a responsible supplier, rather than a bunch of cowboys I'm sure they would have told you that already though!? 

Sorry to rain on your parade BigJ, but it's highly illegal to not have a working headlamp washer with Xenon headlamps.

Apart from the odd dodgy looking chrome accessory which they even owned up to being a bit OTT, we hear nothing but praise about these guys, how refreshing.

Dan, as the risk of opening up a hornet's nest here, do you know that DCC definitely did the work on your RR?

Your experience of their apparent work seems to be at odds with the other feedback they get, that's all

Yes. Also the others. I believe Daveo had his done there and his headlights/washers were also missed.

I think unfortunately people don't necessarily know what they have missed off. You wouldn't know your Bi-Xenons weren't working unless you knew how they operated in the first place. You might not realise your headlight washers aren't working. Although with Xenons making their way into MOT's very soon this will become more of an issue for some...

BigJ - what happened to your SIA pump? You should have the large cone air filter, and then a smaller cone filter about 6 inches lower down. Missing this and you're using unfiltered air. 

While I don't want to comment on the supplier in question, as I've never used them, you don't have a choice about headlight washers.

You shouldn't be given a choice as they are a legal requirement and without them you will fail the MOT at some time in the future... worse if you get stopped at the roadside by a knowledgable man in uniform.

Washers are a legal requirement due to the brightness of a Xenon beam and the way dirt on the lens can disperse the light slightly, meaning you blind oncoming motorists.

To be fair nobody has actually inspected the work on BigJ's car it may well be excellent and as would be expected from a FFRR Site Sponsor.

There are not many Companies doing a proper conversion and I have heard good reviews about their service.

Dan yours was probably an early conversion which hopefully they have learned from so lets give them the benefit of the doubt until proved otherwise.

I don't really have to give them the "benefit of the doubt" as I have a car they've converted, and it's shocking! Honestly, it's terrible. I've sealed most of the connections now so they are good for a while, but will never be great.

Instead of changing the headlight plugs they just cut the wires and inserted the pins into the new sockets, but didn't use the rubber sealers in each pin hole.

As I said, the Secondary Air Injection pump had been overlooked on mine, and all others I've seen. This basically means that the intake system has a gaping hole in it 2 inches wide at bumper level. Imagine wading in anything over a foot deep!

I wouldn't sling mud if there was no mud to sling. 

i had my conversion done in october 2009 and found the job as a whole very good and was happy but on learning more about my car i did find out a few things, my bi-xenons were not wired up, there was no filter on the secondary air pump,my washers are not plumb in and i seem to have a gap between the head lamp and wing that had a bit of rubber pushed in the gap. looking on other RR the head light fits tight against the wing. my S/C tails lights started condensating up after about 6 months. my be these were issue they had at the time and now have over come them, i would welcome the offer of any fixes from them, the head light washers can be plumbed in using the the pump that would of been used with the original headlamp washers just remember to keep the hose the same length for both sides. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
