Centre dash vents control wheel stuck in the red!

Hi guys,
I am getting through the 'to do' list on my new to me 2010 60 plate 4.4 TDV8 Vogue.
The latest item: The car arrived with the temperature control wheel for the centre dash vents stuck firmly in the hot/red zone.

I have removed the fascia plate. A green Bowden cable was attached to the arm behind the wheel but would not move using the wheel. I detached the cable from the nipple and the wheel moved freely. But the cable will not move.

So, has something happened at the other end of that Bowden cable (presumably opening/closing a flap?) causing it to stick, where does it go and how do I get to it?

Your input please, always gratefully received.

Thanks - Mike?, again.
I will check out the manual on the Wiki but, rather than spoil my starting to come out of lockdown Friday night worrying about it, can this actuator - presumably where the Bowden cable terminates, be got at without tearing down half the car?

I’m Mark mate. I’ve never done it, but it looks like it might be a bit of a strip down. It’s one of those times that maybe an endoscope with a light might be an investment 🤣.

I’m sure someone on here has swapped the entire unit, so might know if there is a way just to have a look easily.

Hi Mark,
Hopefully sorted the problem with the sticking control wheel. There was a burr on the quadrant gear between the wheel and the cable preventing the wheel from moving. A chisel scalpel blade got it off and a few drops of silicone lube on the gears, down the cable and on every other hinge I could see in the assembly has hopefully sorted it.

Will road test it tomorrow (after reading the owners manual to find out what that vent assembly actually does!)
Thanks for your input.
