Most likely what you're hearing is the backlash in the drivetrain being taken up. Conversely, if the drivetrain is under tension, e.g. if you're parked on a steep hill, shifting out of Park releases that tension and you will get a similar symptom.

Yeah mine does that - and my drive is on a slope so you have to ready your nerves.
It will jerk in all settings accept D -but drives crisp and smooth as heck.
