depends what other parts you are looking at replacing if you are changing the discs then new pads as well.

I'm not planning to replace any friction parts unless someone comes along to tell me these are shot... I'm replacing a carrier on one side and a caliper on the other. Both rear.

Taking it to bits isn't too much of a hassle, so figured I would get another year or two out of these before needing to replace if I can.

Considering the costs involved, once I have brakes apart, unless the 'old pads in use' are quite new, then I always chuck new ones in, saves time and gives you more time for all the other jobs, yours look like they have quite a bit of life left on them. As in one of the above posts, give them a damn good clean and they should be OK.

As above, if you have got it apart you might as well replace the pads, but that said, those have pretty much all the friction material left on them, so a good clean up and a decent amount of anti squeal then they should be fine.👍🏻

BUT if you have had binding brakes then makes sure that the pads are all roughly the same thickness and non are worn through the binding action. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Plenty of life in them, especially if you only do 5k.
I don’t get this obsession with throw away society changing everything just because it’s apart. They’re so easy to change when they’ve reached end of serviceable life.

Why would you only change one caliper? And only one slider? Only ever change brake components in pairs!

And then also what was the reason for changing those parts. All we see here is the thickness of one brake pad. But where is the other? But most importantly considering a calliper and carrier are being changed...Did the brakes heat up, were they sticky? If so...I'd definitely replace pads, and discs as well...
