United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue
Is this value or a trap?

Hi all,

I am not, yet, in a position to buy my first Range Rover but it hasn't stopped me looking...

I drove what seemed like a very well looked after 4.4 TDV8 Vogue at the weekend and I'm pretty sure I want to upgrade from my current 2005 Defender to a 2011/12 FFRR.

I saw this on Autotrader and I wondered if it is cheaper than others because it's further north, or because a private sale?

I've seen elsewhere on here that the general view is prices are too high at present - is this just a realistic seller?

I was slightly concerned the numberplate is blanked so I can't check MOT history etc.

Grateful for any tips/thoughts.

Cheers. Thumbs Up 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

I saw that one when looking for mine. Just thought it was expensive for a private seller. I ended up paying about the same for my 2011 70k miles SE from a dealer with 6 months warranty.

Nice... was it a random dealer or one that often gets RRs in stock do you know please?

I'm on the lookout for anywhere I should be keeping a watch; the guy I got my Defender from has cars for sale quite often but isn't present on Autotrader... 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

When the time comes to upgrade from the Defender I would be interested in getting a little more info if you decide to sell private Mr. Green

Re price on a RR - I spent 1.5 years looking for a good 2011/12 4.4 TDV8 L322 if you find one buy it immediately IMO. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
Previously George a 2007 MY07 Java Black VSE 3.6 TDV8
Previously a 04 MY04 Defender 90 Sad

Seem normal to me; no immediate alarm bells ringing other than the numberplate hidden. I would request that from the buyer to verify the car.

The spec is nice, basically a vogue se that is like an autobiography with useful options like the vision pack.

I still think the price is high'ish, but realistically priced for a private sale. If you like it I'd contact the seller if I was you as it won't hang around for long..

Looks decently priced for the age, spec and mileage, I suspect its cheap due to 4 previous owners, which is the only thing which would concern me

Everyone has their own opinion, but when buying privately I like to purchase 1/2 owner cars where possible as you can get a feel for whether the owner knows the vehicle and has looked after it

Good luck with your search Thumbs Up 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

That one has electric recline rear seats which are a rare option.
Wheels have been refinished a bit darker than standard but quite like that
Good luck. Thumbs Up Cheers, Greg

I got it from Lawsons in Congleton. They always have a few Land Rovers in stock. They have a mint 2012 Westie in at the moment but a mint price to go with it. Saw it when I collected mine but I wanted cream leather.

That private one has been for on sale for a couple of months now.

Prices vary such a lot. I bought my 2011 4.4 tdv8 Autobiography 18 months ago with 99,000 miles for £12,995 from a dealer. That seemed to be the going price at the time.

I think it's the same for most cars. I sold my Maserati QP for more than I paid for it when I got the RR and the QP was from a main dealer 12 months ago.

That car looks nice.

It's got the electric back seats which is a nice feature to have, it's got the vision pack which works, it's also sat on a decent set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres. It's a nice colour and personally, I really like the blue leather on it too.

If I were looking that could be a contender for me.

The 2011 Nara Bronze one in the 'For Sale" section looks a lovely (and loved) car and IMO a better buy than the one on AT you've mentioned. Good to see that there are still some nice cars around!

I'm not sure I can agree with that, subjective points like paint and interior colours aside, the one on AT has 20k fewer miles and is a Vogue SE with extras on top?

Another small point is that the Forum member's car is in Stirling, which would be about an 850 mile round trip for me!

Also someone has PM'd at lunchtime today so it might not be for sale for long...

---

Anyway, I got the VIN and reg from the seller, for what good that does me. I checked the build spec on vindecoderz.com, seems fine. Also I can see the MOT history, previous problems seem to have been sorted, no advisories in July last year and less than 10k miles done in the last two.

Is there any other search I can/should do for free with this information? 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue
