I had to loosen mine to re-align it and did take the electric struts off to figure out why the tailgate was sagging. This was a few years ago and the problem was not that common then and no one knew what to do. i's now well documented.

Have you checked with your insurance ? I think most companies cover all windows (and not just the windscreen itself) under the windscreen clause where you just pay a set fee & not counted as a claim. |

As above, call your insurance. Even if you had a moment of dumb****ery to break the window they should cover it. At very least it’s worth an ask. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Checked out the insurance. Not insured for windscreen cover from last renewal as I didn’t instruct them that I still wanted it.
