One year in

18k miles which is more than I expected and certainly doesn't feel like it which is attributable in no small part by how easy it is to spend long periods in comfort behind the wheel on an L322.
Major costs (in no particular order);
Oil cooler (obviously)
Aux belt, pulleys and tensioner (still noisy on cold starts Rolling Eyes )
AC compressor
4 x Pirelli Verde (plenty of tread when purchased but they were very old and I never compromise with tyres)
Rear brake callipers, pads and disks.
Rear upper outer suspension joint for MOT
Battery
Parking assist module(s) (2 new ones and 4 non working used ones) Rolling Eyes
Gearbox, diff and transfer box service
ULEZ Big Cry

Promised only to keep it for one year to scratch an itch but that foolishness is now long forgotten...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I’ve had mine less than a week and already my notion of I’ll just have for a bit to scratch the itch has gone to I think I may need one of these as part of my fleet always.

Let’s hope the issues over time don’t dampen my spirit!

5 x £12.50 is a lot less than the depreciation on a new compliant car! Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

The annual ulez cost verses the cost of a depreciating new car is an interesting one.

Guess the sensible thing to do would be to buy a secondhand ulez compliant car that won’t depreciate much / at all, but as this is ffrr forum sensible economics is not what we are all here for.

I fill up at Esso and get 5p off a litre using 300 nector points each time, saves me £2.50 for every 50L of fuel, so a fiver off a full tank in the L322. But the main benefit is mentally turning £1.74.9 a litre into £1.69.9 a litre which for some reason feels much cheaper…

Costco were selling premium unleaded at 160.7ppl when I filled up last weekend.

I don’t use the warehouse very often but with cheaper fuel and the odd interesting thing from the warehouse it pays for the membership every year.

To be fair I'm getting average fuel consumption >30mpg from mine (Fill to the brim vs trip miles) and fuel costs are not 'that' much more than my previous car which was a 3.0V6 TDI Audi A6 Allroad. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

My SC just emptied it’s tank in 300 miles after treating it very gently after the engine rebuild Laughing

I get the impression this is going to get expensive.

First month of the 2nd year of ownership and just had the following done; front upper and lower suspension arms, rear toes arms, Hunter 4 wheel alignment, new front belt and tensioner, gearbox service and software upgrade and front disks and pads. It now feels like a new car and I have no major jobs on the to-do list
(for now). Not cheap but I'm not complaining. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Just doing all my suspension JayGee. Finished the front and now doing the back. While everything is apart I can get to the rusty subframe. Can't believe how thick the rust and scale is!!
How much did you pay for the 4 wheel alignment?

£190 at Glenrands. They did all the work apart from the gearbox service. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
