Take it to a garage and get a 4 wheel tracking done. Prob about £50 give or take. That will let you know if it's out or if the tyre was before. |

Would you believe that when I bought my RRS SC from new it was SO badly out of alignment that it would shoot across 3 lanes of motorway in under 5 seconds and I was constantly fighting to keep it in a straight line.

You prob want to find a garage/Indy with laser gear. They will measure and adjust as the monkeys at kwik fit might not do the adjusting side. Dig out the yellow pages and give the local garages a call. I'm sure landrover will do it but I'm sure it will cost a tidy sum. Depending on how good you feel with spanners etc I'm sure there will be a write up on how to do it using string and rulers. I know a few lads of the Vx220 forum i used to frequent achieved good results the old fashioned way. |

What you need is a set of standard 20" alloys. I might know someone very local who has a set for sale... Discovery 4 HSE

So got the rear drivers tyre changed today. All 4 wheels are now balanced and the car feels a lot better and smoother. I've just got to sort out the excessive wear on the back tyre now. The car was mot'd when I bought It by trinity in Leicestershire so I can only assume tyres were fine then but this was the one I just had replaced, only 6 months old. As you can see the whole inside is tread is gone with some bit completely worn through.

Keep us posted. Not many people run the 22s so its all valuable feedback if there is a potential problem with the size.

Well finally got the tracking and alignment done today. 3 wheels were out. On the front two the toe was out and the drivers rear the toe and camber was out. So all sorted for £56. On the drive back it did feel alot smoother but that was only city driving so not had a chance to have a run out at speed. Hopefully its all sorted now tho.

I was thinking the same. My transit jumbo has no vibrations and is a perfect smooth drive compared to the FFRR. Ex FFRR 4.2 Supercharged

To make things even worse, my brother and I had a old VW rabbit years ago ( 1987 I think) , the rims on that car were so out of round and unbalanced that they pretty much destroyed the tread on the tires. You could barely feel a vibration . 2003 RR 4.4 only 40k miles (current) 2004 RR 4.4 ( just sold) 2000 RR 4.6 (sold) 1959 series 2 109 1956 series 1 1956 |
