Hi all, i had my 2005 l322 diagnosed was told the angle sensor was faulty so i got one from a bmw e46 and replaced it. Had it coded and setup to the car all was good for a few hundred yards and steering angle plausibility fault came up and abs light cant clear these faults had it calibrated again, could not communicate with abs ecu so was thinkn if the E46 angle sensor was good enough same part number any ideas the reason i got the diognostics in the first place was that the car was driving bad hunting thanks

New one is faulty as well..? doesn't take much to break them when they are removed.... was it second hand..? Pete

I’ve recently solved my plausibility issue on my 2003. After I did suspension work the steering wheel was ever so slightly off when going straight. A front wheel alignment has solved this issue.

Plausibility issue usually mean everything is working but what the front wheels are doing compared to the steering wheel is incorrect. Mine use to take about 15 miles of driving before the fault was triggered and was reset by cycling the ignition.

The only thing to make sure of with the e46 sensor is not all had DSC some had a lesser version. I’m not sure if that will make any difference.

If you have diagnostics check the angle is 0 degrees when going straight.
