I keep reading on various posts here about double locking but what exactly is so "double" about it?

depending on the year , a single fob press locks the doors and a double press also activates the interior passive alarm and the doors cant be opened from he inside, this is called superlock..

If it's in a safe place, leave it unlocked and disconnect the battery... Pete

Umm, not on my 2003. A double press deactivates the interior passive alarm. I have to use it all the time when I go camping otherwise, when my camping fridge turns on and its fan starts, the alarm will go off. Ron B. I wonder what the use case is for leaving animals or people locked in the car but with the alarm off?? |

transportation on a ferry...pets have to stay in the vehicle on some crossings.. ... - .- -.

And just to add, the alarm isn’t totally disconnected on a single lock, the tilt sensor will still trigger it. If you want it totally deactivated, don’t lock it.
