Multiple fault lights...

Hello all,

Hoping this may have happened to someone else who can throw light on the possible cause:

Driving normally,20 mins or so into my journey, nothing untoward in terms of misfires etc. All of a sudden I get, in rapid succession: Brake Assist not working, vehicle stability not working then speed restriction (Lights on vehicle ride height selector & terrain choce knob both went out).
I chug to a layby in 'Limp Mode', kill ignition, lock car for a minute or so then reopen and fire up and all is well again for about another 70 miles then the same thing happens again. same procedure seems to reset everything again and off we go again!
It's now happened once on every journey over the last two days, usually about 20-30 mins in.

Any ideas? Not had a diagnostic yet so just seeing if anyone's come across this before.

Car is a late 2009 3.6 TDV8.

Many thanks in advance!

J.

Could be anything really. The systems are so interdependent. I'd say you really do need the error code to give a pointer.

ABS wheel sensors will fault out all sorts of stability systems ... if it cant sense the wheel speed, it wont offer any of the assistance.

A poor earth connection ?
A g- sensor error would throw out systems.
A steering wheel angle sensor issue would through out stability systems.

There is just so much. V8 or else ...

An easy one to check that might not seem logical - split intercooler hose?

Thanks guys, you might be onto something with the intercooler hose as performance seems a bit flat but not so much that i'd suspect the hose has come off completely.

The hose won't come off completely, but a split (normally where you can't see it) can throw up all sorts of problems!

Will make a bit of smoke.

Inter cooler doesn’t usually throw up those errors tho.

Basic checks on the alternator voltages
Check the turbo hose usually passenger size on splits under the webbing by the throttle body.
Also poss steering angle sensor calibration There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just to close this topic off, it was the intercooler pipe. A big split in the top left hose.
Thanks to everyone for their input!
