4 weeks for first oil leak.

Morning all

I’ve just noticed my 2011 4.4tdv8 has left three drops of oil on my drive. It’s not haemorrhaging but something is there . I understand the oil coolers can go. Are there any other areas they can leak?

I was curious though (mechanically manlnourished here) what type of price would be competitive for a genuine oil cooler if it is this upon investigation to be changed.

Thank you

Usually oil cooler gaskets. Check the Wiki on here - top right of page
Sometimes oil pump gallery plug
Sometimes a turbo

Easy to check oil cooler gaskets. Guide on here somewhere. Engine cover off, pollen box out with 2 nuts and then peer down into back of V. It will also smell when hot and drip from belhhousing area underneath.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m close to bishops heritage so I’ll likely see them.

Also, check your coolant tank for signs of oil?

i used a part from Advanced Factors made by Nissens did the job back in feb i think no issues since.
i now need to change my expansion bottle though as there was oil in the coolant. I also did a oil change at the same time as i suspect there was coolant in there even though there was no sign of it.
