These are complex and have a number of sensors in both lower and upper sections that can go faulty, not expensive to replace but can be tricky to fault find... |

I'm glad my tail gate is the old fashioned manual, there is less to go wrong.

Does the lower section close if you press the top section button? It should of course. The only time mine hasn't worked is when the battery was low on charge. Never been a problem with full battery or engine running. Mine occasionally fails to close at all - I just press the unlock button. This often does nothing as the car may already be unlocked but then the tailgate closes - spooky! Geoff |

To confuse things further Lr changed the functionality of the tailgate by model year.

Mine works ok if i press the unlock on the fob then the tailgate button on the fob weird |

Mine had an issue a few months back, would just bleep at me and not close so had to do manually. resolved by dealer very quickly, it was the sensor strips either side of upper tailgate that needed replacing, all good since excellent work from local dealer |

Ive got a similar issue where both tailgates start to close, then i get a bleep and nothing! |
