parking brake adustment.

Have just replaced the brake disks and pads on the back. The parking brake shoes looked OK so i left them. Just followed the process when the new disks were on to tighten the pads till the disks were locked then backed off 8 clicks. However having gone out for a test drive the parking brake is barely able to hold when idling in drive. So I did the parking brake calibration described in the wiki manual to see if this helped. No joy still pretty poor.

Should I open up the shoes with the adjusters to see if this helps... ? L322 2007 TDV8 3.6

When I did mine last year I already had the battery disconnected and the E brake was already OFF. (we were replacing the entire rear suspension bits) so I thought why not chuck in new disks, pads, shoes and as it happens all brake lines.

Then I did pretty much what you did for a standard brake shoe procedure, ie tighten until lock up and back off until wheel turns with just a hint of noise.

(just a thought, closely check that you have positioned the EPB springs correctly, it is reasonably possible to have them backasswards).

It was then a couple of weeks until the RR was back on the road before I could follow the EPB procedure. My EPB will bring the RR to a stop all by itself, or it will hold station no problem.

I'd do your manual adjustments again, but also reread the procedure before you go on the attack.

Best of luck. L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue. 07MY

Suspect this might be it, I followed workshop manual which says tighten up and the back off 8 clicks of the adjuster. That’s quite a bit, the disk was be turning freely after just 2-3 clicks. L322 2007 TDV8 3.6

When you turn the adjuster is it upwards on both sides or up one, down the other. I have read conflicting advice on various threads 2007 TDV8 VSE
